On Friday, April 16, 2010, ten High Commissioners and Ambassadors opened their residences for a sold-out benefit in support of the Friends of the Village of Rockcliffe Park Foundation.  Participants included Egypt, Germany, Guatemala, Ireland, the Netherlands, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Trinidad and Tobago and Uganda.

The evening began at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception generously sponsored by Sutton Group - Premier Realty in honour of our dinner hosts at the Rockcliffe Community Centre and Public Library located at the corner of Springfield Road and Buena Vista.  Our Ambassadors and High Commissioners were introduced and guests then learned where and with whom they were dining.

A total of 118 guests attended, including Mauril Bélanger, M.P. for Ottawa-Vanier; the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur, MPP for Ottawa-Vanier and Ontario’s Minister of Community and Social Services; and Barbara Clubb, City Librarian and CEO of the Ottawa Public Library.  Tickets were sold for $150 per person and the event, with the generous help of our Event Supportors, raised more than $20,000.
